The recent Tokyo Game Show 2010 held a lot of promise for Kinect fans. Microsoft has revealed 5 NEW Kinect Launch titles available form Japanese developers.
Here is a quick rundown on these titles:
- Haunt: Haunt appears to be survival/horror game from NanaOn-Sha and Masaya Matsuura. This group created the successful Parappa the Rapper and single-handedly pioneered the music game genre.
- Codename D: This title is from legendary Japanese developer Grasshopper Manufacture. This is the same team created both Killer 7 and No More Heroes. Only a teaser trailer was demoed in which a dude wielding a flaming baseball and making peoples’ heads explode. Looks like this may have some real potential.
- Rise of Nightmares: Old school Sega Enterprises is bringing some survival horror to our Kinect with a titled named Rise of Nightmares. Look out and explore spooky areas full of terrifying undead ghoul.
- Steel Battalion Heavy Armor: This item will be delivered by Capcom. You may recall the original Steel Battalion, an Xbox game made famous for its amazing and pricey controller. This Kinect version will not require such hardware, but looks to still provide similar game-play.
- Project Draco: This title from Grounding again was only teased, with a short trailer showing an odd mix of creatures. It appears to be some sort of dragon riding game, where you’ll work your way up from fuzzy critters to fierce dragons. But, with no gameplay shown, we’re making some assumptions here.
It was also revealed that Zune launches in Japan this fall. We use the Zune HD exclusively here at KinectBlog, does this mean a new touch like Zune HD player or just the services bundled with Xbox, that was not specified?
