Globall Art is a small FREE terrain enhancement service we are trying to offer to the X-Plane community. We are used to create natural and artistic 3D models for X-Plane using X-Plane 11, but found a lack of suitable models for the airport area. So we decided to try to create 3D models from the more famous aeronautical landmarks, like the buildings and the runways of the airport area, in order to offer to our users these 3D models as free terrain. From time to time, we will work on other aeronautical landmarks and try to improve the look of the terrain. As the models we can provide, we can only use 3D models provided by open access sites, that we could totally modify, like Google 3D. Each model we create is composed of up to four textures: a normal, an alpha, a specular and a roughness texture. In this model we only used the normal texture, and modified it by hand to make a bit more interesting. The author also uses in this scenery different photo references: The main reference used in this scenery is this one : It is a first image of the airport, shot from below, with the main buildings. Different references were used for weather and lighting. Some textures used are from : A rendering of the ground and runway textures is composed of seven gradient textures (25 textures in total) and a normal texture. A darker texture was used for some areas to „compliment” the textures of the airport area. A smooth texture of the road was used for the entrances to the airport area. A more realistic texture was used for the runway and taxiways. A more drastic texture was used for the taxiway and runway edges. The taxiway runway and the front of the airport were improved with this texture. The other runways, the taxiway with the front of the airport were improved with this texture.
