If it is powered by the controller could you have the fan start and then shut off, run for an hour or so and then shut off? I think, you will have trouble, when you do, then you can use turn it off-on-off-on etc, but the fan will have nothing to do, and if you use the timer to active fan, you will have to let timer-fan last for specific time.
