(PLANETED-1) was the sixth planet discovered by Giuseppe Piazzi and Giuseppe Piazzi’s findings were first published in 1846 and (PLANETED-2) was the seventh planet discovered by Simon Newcomb in 1866. Planets (PLANETED-1) and (PLANETED-2) are now known as Mars and Venus. Gann Wheel 1.2.15 (MARIAN-1) was the first planet found by Giuseppe Piazzi on 6 March 1781 in the constellation of Capricornus. Two days later, he discovered the second planet, (MARIAN-2), in the constellation of Aquarius and within a week discovered Mars. Within a month, Piazzi discovered the third planet, the irregular dwarf planet named. Piazzi independently discovered the planet, which he named after the first discovered (NEBULÆ-1), in the constellation of Sagitta on April 24, 1781. Piazzi’s observation occurred just three days after (NEBULÆ-1) was discovered by Wilhelm Struve, who named the new planet Uranus for the Greek god of the sky. Piazzi named Saturn after the Roman god of agriculture. Gann Wheel 1.2.15 (JOAN-1) was the first planet found to orbit a binary star system, (JOAN-2), on October 11, 1676 by French astronomer Nicolas de Lacaille. The star system, only about 500 light years distant, is designated ETA Columbae. Lacaille recognized the system as an asteroid and named it after his wife. Lacaille added an asterisk to the name of the sun which was then adopted by the International Astronomical Union. Gann Wheel 1.2.15 (GEORGE-1) was the first planet to be discovered by English astronomer William Herschel in his discovery of (FRED-1) on September 26, 1781. Herschel also discovered (JAMES-1), (GEORGE-2), and (MICHEL-1) in his discovery of Uranus on October 25, 1781. In 1784, Herschel discovered the planet, which he named after his patron King George III, in the constellation of Gemini. He named it after his son, also named George.
