The main issue that I am being called out about is not just the new features, but the fact that the new features are being loaded at the expense of the old. In other words, instead of the old games having new content, like the Pokemon Stadium games have, the games are being enriched by the same old Pokemon. All we have from the first two games is a handful of Pokemon that show up in the games. To this end, the new games have more features, but the Pokemon that you can use are the same old ones. The new features are also more buggy and add more bugs to the franchise. Instead of a game where you make a quick battle, find your Pokemon, and then go home, the games are much more deeper and multifaceted. Add all the features to the two games, and the only saving grace is that you can have a party of seven, choose to fully use the new moves, and not use those annoying features that load you down with Pokemon (in the old games, everything was cool, you could just walk around town for hours, catching Pokemon), and you’ve got a great Pokemon experience. Considering how we’ve seen so many iterations of Pokemon, the fact that a new generation’s code is loaded with the code from two generations ago is a travesty.
