IV opens in an alien world of magitech, monsters, and mechs. It puts the player in the role of one of three factions vying for control of the land, and while its story modes are scant on character, it’s an intriguing ride. I got my first look at Exile Kingdoms IV on the last day of Gamescom, when the publisher announced plans to take the real-time strategy genre and toss it into the air.
