Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings. Suitable for business environments and experienced users After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts. Create 2D and 3D objects You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes. With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest. Various export possibilities Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier. Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around. Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available. To end with All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

How to Download and Use AutoCAD There are two different types of Autodesk AutoCAD subscription: Personal and Enterprise. Personal users can use the software without an Autodesk AutoCAD subscription, but Enterprise users need an Autodesk AutoCAD subscription in order to use AutoCAD. 1. Download AutoCAD from Autodesk (free) You can download the AutoCAD software free of charge from Autodesk’s website. However, you need to have an Autodesk account in order to download it. 2. Download and Install Autodesk AutoCAD Start AutoCAD by clicking on the file.acd in your Windows Explorer window. Then, click on the AutoCAD icon that appears in the taskbar in the center of your desktop screen. To install AutoCAD, it is recommended that you download the.zip package for AutoCAD R19. If you are using AutoCAD R19, it is recommended to download and install AutoCAD as it will automatically update your AutoCAD installation. 3. Create a New AutoCAD Project After launching AutoCAD, you will see an icon for your AutoCAD installation at the top right corner of your desktop screen. The Autodesk application icon will look like this: This icon is known as the “CD icon.” If you click on the CD icon, you will see a message stating that you are using “the latest release of AutoCAD.” You should click on “OK” to continue. Now, click on the “File” icon on the bottom right of your desktop screen. 4. Select a Template File In the bottom left corner of the “File” menu is a small blue arrow called “Add a template.” Click on the arrow to expand the list of template files. Find the file that is marked as “New AutoCAD project from template.” The.aco file extension on the template file indicates that the file is a template for new AutoCAD projects. You may have to browse through the files until you find the one that you need to open. A template file is a file containing multiple pages for new AutoCAD projects. You will find the following template files on the AutoCAD website: Some of these template files will be marked as “standard.” In these files, the “draft” option will be enabled

3D CAD AutoCAD was 3D CAD software. Though it was intended for 2D drafting, it was released for use by non-drafting 3D modeling professionals. Third-party plug-ins were included for 3D modeling and specialized tools, such as AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD Civil 3D was the licensed 3D CAD software (for the architectural, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines) provided with AutoCAD 2010, 2011 and 2012. In September 2008, Autodesk announced a complete restructuring of its 3D product line, and all products that were part of that line would be re-branded, and would no longer be compatible with previous versions. The product redesign and the name change were to begin in January 2009, and would be completed by the first quarter of 2010. In the final releases of the 3D product line, Architecture and Civil 3D were combined into Architecture 3D. The remaining two products, AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD Civil 3D, were re-branded as Revit Architecture. The revision was part of the redesign of the overall product line that began in September 2008. In August 2009, Autodesk released AutoCAD Architecture for Revit, which was based on the discontinued version of the architecture and engineering product line, and later, AutoCAD Architecture 3D. Design review and check The idea of design review is to share the design of a 3D model with the end user, allowing them to make changes, reject or accept the design, or forward the model to other team members for further changes. Usually, the changes are made in separate layers (such as using the Layers palette in the Visual LISP environment or the Design Review functionality in the native 2D or 3D environments). Design review was released in AutoCAD 2012 and is a standard in the new product releases. In the design review, the end user is provided with a timeline for the review process and an opportunity to review the model and the changes proposed. The review can either be for Rejected, Accepted or Forwarded. AutoCAD allows design review only in the native 2D or 3D environment and with the 2D or 3D drawing displayed. In the native environment, this means either using the Design Review palette in the Layers palette or the Review tools in the Annotation palette. In the native environment, the current view is the active view af5dca3d97
If the license file “license.dat” can not be found, check whether the license.dat file is on the correct place, and delete this file. Open the license.dat file, and replace the license info with the license.dat information. Close Autocad. Uninstall Autocad. Re-open Autocad, start the registration. If the license info is successfully registered, the registration is successful. Pages Friday, July 6, 2011 Happy Friday – Larger Than Life My work was inspired by the larger than life prints of the Victorians – at least that is what I have been told by the student I am mentoring. I wanted to create a work that would give that “larger than life” feeling to my artwork. I was inspired by the above picture. At first I wanted to do a color combination similar to the photo, but then I was a bit concerned that I would look like a copycat. I like the dark color palette, but I am not sure if it is too “goth.” I wanted to use a woodcut, but the canvas is too thin. So I decided to go with a cut-paper print. So here is my latest work… The above picture was created with watercolor. The woodcut and the cut-paper print are still in the works. I am unsure if they will make it into this piece, as there is not enough time left for it. The print measures 18″ x 18″ and the canvas is 6″ x 12″. I am experimenting with a palette of more bright colors to see if I can make a print that looks like the photograph. As for the color palette, I like the colors in this photograph. I know it is a bit gothic, but I think it goes very well with the photograph. I have gotten a lot of comments on this piece so I am pretty happy with it. The next few pieces will hopefully be a bit more cheerful, but I do have a couple pieces in the works. I am just now looking at the comments on this post. I am happy that this post has made it to the top of my blog. 🙂 I love the Victorian style, but didn’t expect you to go that way. I think your work looks great! I think you can use the color palette from the picture and make it work. I have two of your prints on
